How Can severe Metallic Taste In The Tongue Be Treated?
I've been suffering from a salty/metallic taste, which seems to be on my tongue for the past several days. I have recently started to feel a tingling/burning sensation on my tongue and lips. I'm not on any medications and try to hydrate myself throughout the day. My tongue looks as if it has a thin white film across the surface, that doesn't brush off. Juices tend to help subside the symptoms. I have also started to rinse my mouth with listerine a week to help with my mouth's hygiene, but the symptoms still persist.
Well, your symptoms are pointing towards yeast infection over tongue known as Oral Thrush. Altered taste and tingling and burning sensation of tongue is all appearing to be due to infection only. So my advise is to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated so that he can do a microscopy of the scraping from the tongue and confirm the cause.. For thrush you can be advised to take oral antifungal medicines like Flucoazole and also gargle with Nystatin mouthwash, probiotic supplement like Lactobacillus acidphillus or natural probiotics like Yogurt can be eaten in abundance to clear thrush faster.. For burning sensation inside mouth gargle with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
